  • A key element of the project is the creation of a solution that can be implemented reasonably easily in various local authorities. One aspect of this is the creation of a hosting solution so that any Local Authority can make use of the product irrespective of the type or extent of their local technical infrastructure. For those authorities who wish to implement locally it will be necessary to develop the software solutions to the same level of sophistication as commercially available products. This includes the availability of support solutions, distribution and upgrade management.

    Key objectives:

    • To deliver a hosting solution so that any Local Authority can make use of the product irrespective of the type or extent of their local technical infrastructure.
    • For those authorities who wish to implement locally it will be necessary to develop the software solutions into an out of the box installation, to the same level of sophistication as commercially available products.
    • To develop and deliver support solutions including help desk facilities, distribution and upgrade management.
    • To pilot the hosting and out-of the box solutions.
    • To work closely with the Content Management System and Starter Kit Workstreams to ensure that appropriate controls and procedures are in place to protect the integrity of the 'gold standard' versions of the products.
    • To work closely with the Information Architecture and Standards Workstream to ensure that the hosted and out of the box solutions conform to the relevant metadata and information architecture standards, as determined by this workstream.
